Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Two days after the Serbian government removed the monument of the 2001
war in Presheva, the students at the Tirana University have reacted.
Dozens of students marched to the “Nation’s Martyrs” boulevard, demonstrating in support of the Presheva Valley Albanians.
“Tirana University Students and all Albanian citizens cannot sit back and watch these vandal acts. The Student Council appeals international institutions to stop the anti-Albanian storm that is arriving in the region and that is threatening peace and stability in Balkans. The Albanians of Tirana, Prishtina and Tetovo are also sad for this, because we are one single nation”, declared Emiljano Dervishi, from the Tirana University Students’ Council.
The Tirana University Students’ Council condemned the removal of the Albanian monument in Presheva, saying that this is another proof of the albanophobia among Serbian authorities.
