“Super-boat” of the Koman HPP

The Albanian Power Corporation has sued the former director of the Koman
hydropower plant, Arben Cani, and the entire directing staff of this
HPP, for abusing with the tender that served for buying a motorized
vessel.

This vessel has been bought by the HPP with a price that is seven times higher than the price declared in the Albanian customs. This was verified after an internal audit, ordered by the Power Corporation during the first months of this year.

The audit has identified a series of serious administrative and legal violations by the leaders of this HPP, among which is that of the procurement of a vessel for the needs of the HPP.

According to the documents, the “Marinko Cruiser 222”, firstly imported by a private subject, has passed the custom for a value of 38.150 EUR.

But only a few months after this, the same vessel was bought by HPP of Koman for 35.7 million ALL, or 255.000 EUR.

After this evidence, the Albanian Power Corporation has ordered the firing of six high rank employees, including the former director, and gave four other warnings.

The material was sent to the Prosecution for investigation.
