A study for the role of the political parties in Albania shows the
deformation of democracy as result of the ghost parties that have simply
been registered at court.
Alba Cela, scholar of political matters, with the help of the SOROS foundation, presented a 6-month study named “political parties and the deformation of democracy”, where she has analyzed the activity of 120 Albanian parties.
A political party needs 500 signatures to be registered, but Mrs. Cela’s study shows that in the elections, these parties don’t receive even the votes of the signatures.
The Socialist MP, Taulant Balla, expressed the need for changing the law of political parties.
“We have heard party leaders making offers for selling the parties. With Mrs.Cela’s recommendations and the experiences of other countries, such as Macedonia, it is time to review the law for political parties in Albania”, Balla declared.
A similar situation is in Macedonia, but Dr. Misho Domkanovic says that once in four years, the Macedonian authorities verify the founding signatures of the parties.
Adnand Ahmet declared that there are 55 similar parties in Kosovo, most of which have the strangest alliances, infringing the programs openly.
