The Tirana Marathon started today with the “Fun Run” category, with hundreds of students running on the city’s main boulevard.
The race aims to educate young students for an active life.
The vice Mayor of Tirana, Andi Seferi, gave the prizes to the winners of this race.
“We are holding a very important event tomorrow. Tirana is welcoming runners from 40 countries of the world. I invite you all to become part of the Marathon, even by helping volunteers and foreign runners. It is the best that our city could do, welcoming a sportive event of international proportions”, Seferi said.
The third edition of the marathon will receive 5000 runners from around the world. Many roads will be blocked for vehicles.
