Student parents boycott school

60 students from Fushe Kruje have boycotted school for several days,
after their parents organized a protest against the school program.

The parents want their children to study English as a second language, but the Education Directory has assigned Italian.

The Kruje Education Director, Fatmir Goga, explains that the program is formed by the Ministry of Education and no one can change them. The Italian language is a project that must be implemented, according to him.

“Based on an agreement between the states, a memorandum and the Illyria Project, 10% of the schools must include Italian as a foreign language, 30% French and the rest English or another language that has been decided with the community”, Goga declared.

The parents warned that they will not allow their children to study in this school if English will not be an option.
