Anisa Ruseti, General Director of the Social Service, announced the opening of a new social centre that will serve in emergency situations such as the current cold weather.
“The past two years have seen very low temperatures, which are unusual for Tirana. We decided to establish a special centre that will serve not only to the homeless people living on the streets but to anyone who needs help in such an emergency situation”, she said.
Anyone is encouraged to help the homeless by reporting anyone they can see outside during the cold.
“We have some teams on terrain, with social workers, municipal police, etc. But citizens are also encouraged to call 129 as soon as they can see anyone in danger”, Ruseti declared.
