The head of the Albanian CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, spoke to the media regarding the SPAK anti-corruption prosecution’s investigation into two agency tenders for the voting equipment.
Celibashi: “Personally, I have no concern either for myself or for anyone else from the CEC engaged in this process. The process has all the legitimacy in every view.”
In August, the Central Election Commission submitted to the offices of the Special Prosecutor all the documents related to the procurement and process of electronic voting and electronic counting developed in the last elections.

The special prosecutor’s office has not given any explanation as to who and why the process of choosing the companies that implemented the voter identification system as well as electronic voting and counting is being investigated.
