The vice chairman of the High Council of Justice and also Red and Black
Alliance leader, Mr. Kreshnik Spahiu, declared that the population
registration process violates the rights of the Cham population and is
making an artificial decrease of the number of Albanians in Balkan.
“The Census has not taken in consideration the rights of the Cham population. The legal proposition for this category was excluded from this registration”, Spahiu declared, in an invitation by the Chameria Institute.
“This process is artificially decreasing the number of Albanians in Balkan. It is indispensable for the state to make the inventory of all real estates of the Albanians. The legal way should be followed only after the property registration, but the Census did not allow this”, Spahiu declared.
This Sunday, the leader of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, Shpetim Idrizi, declared that although some of the questions were considered as inappropriate, the process must continue.
“These amendments are the only means that we have for stopping abuses with the population registration. Based on this, for everyone that will declare fake nationality data, INSTAT is obliged to correct the free self-declaration with the official data of the National Registrar Office”, PJIU declared.
Idrizi did not hide the satisfaction that some minority organizations, mainly the Greek, have boycotted the process.
“We think that those who had planned to abuse with this Census backed off from their plans, also the Greek consul, who would declare that this registration would be the start of the battle for the Northern Epirus. We guarantee the Albanians that PJIU will monitor the process through Parliamentary interpellations and interrogation sessions, so that everything goes in accordance with law and the Constitution. Albania is and will remain a unitary state, not a multiethnic one”, Idrizi declared.
This Tuesday, Top Channel proved that the process is progressing with a good pace even in areas where there are minorities.
