During the discussions for the Budget 2011, the opposition appealed the
government to stop the financial repression against business.

“The situation with the tax office fines is alarming. It has gone out of control, and the Tax Director doesn’t even go at his office. What’s the result today? The entire tax structure has been destroyed and has turned into a police administration”, declared the Socialist MP, Arben Ahmetaj.

Another Socialist MP, Arben Malaj, declared that in the conditions of a financial crisis, the fines are putting many businesses to danger.

“The crisis period is not the right moment to exert fine policies, but you must reduce them and extend the deadlines, in order to help business”, Malaj declared.

The concerns by the tax administration were raised even before by the business associations. the Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, did not answer to the accusations but he mentioned the realization of the budget indicators for the last year, which, according to him, fulfil all legal objectives set by the Parliament.
