SP presence in Parliament, depending on CEC

The fact that SP decided to hold another assembly after two weeks, seems to coincide with the end of the counting process that will be performed by CEC. This also proves that the SP agenda will depend on the outcome of the Commission. During this time, the Assembly members will undertake a wide consulting campaign with the electorate, in order to discuss the current political situation and further reactions of the entire opposition.

“The political battle will depend on the way this legal-electoral tragedy will conclude”, explained Socialist MP Blendi Klosi.

The Opposition leader gave some signals for softening their boycott, emphasizing that the two-year action that started with boycotts and massive protests reached its goal on May 8th elections. Rama declared that now there is another situation, and that the Socialist Party must show that it is a political force of new ideas, which will save the country from the collapse created by Sali Berisha.

“We want to pull Albania out of the crisis, and this can only be achieved by proving that the revolt against the evil is an alternative for us, not a blind force. We are in different conditions today, although the government stole the votes in broad daylight. It’s exactly for this that the conditions and positions are not the same as before. There is no Albanian or international partner today that wouldn’t agree with us for what happened. We want to make everyone aware that we are the force of the future”, Rama declared.

Despite these messages, the opposition leader declared that the protests and demonstrations will continue to be a way of opposing this government.

“We will not give up from protests and demonstrations for making Berisha leave. We will express the popular revolt against this regime”, Rama declared.

The Socialist Party Assembly will open way to the new electoral campaign within the Socialist Party structures, culminating with the SP congress expected to be held this autumn.
