The Socialist Party held this Monday the parliamentary group meeting, in
which MP Ben Blushi said that the SP is being withheld by a group of
businessmen and individuals with a criminal past.
“How can Albania have a democratic system if parties are not democratic? Could there be democracy if businessmen or people with a criminal past are allowed in the party? Political parties are the source of power in Albania. They are elected by the people, and then they create the Parliament and its institutions. But the institutions cannot be clean like this. There will be no hope for the new generation, no free competition, etc, if our parties are not freed by this dictate. This is taking place right now at the Socialist Party. The statute is being violated, justice is being broken. They are saying today that no elections are needed as long as we are doing reforms”, Blushi said.
The member of the SP leadership, Arben Ahmetaj, asid that the reforms were the focus of the group.
“We share with the Parliamentary group all positive developments for the economy and we divide our duties for the reform”, said Ahmetaj, who rejected voices for corruptive affairs with concessions.
