SP official list of running candidates

07/05/2013 00:00

After two hours of discussions and debates, the  Socialist Party approved the candidates’ list for the June 23rd elections.

During this meeting MP Erjon Brace has held a harsh debate for the way how candidates are chosen. According to him, the process should have been discussed with the basis.

But the list was approved and was sent to the Central Election Commission.

The battle for Tirana will be led by Pandeli Majko, while Saimir Tahiri, second on this list, will keep focusing in the Albanian capital followed by Vasilika Hysi, Ditmir Bushati and Fatmir Xhafaj.

The list in Fier is led by the SP Parliamentary Group leader, Gramoz Ruci. Erjon Brace will be second in this district, giving an end to the suspicions that he might run in Tirana.

The list in Shkoder will be led by prof.Mimoza Hafizi. Former Prime Minister Bashkim Fino will lead the Korce District and Arta Dade will come second.

Rama held a speech for the event:

“Among all the emotions that moments like this always have, when you have to make choices and define names, I believe that the SP has created a national winning team that will fight in every district. I want to underline that I am proud to have had the privilege to work and cooperate with the men and women of a parliamentary group whose mandate is expiring, and who were able to give their understanding, even if many of them were not included in the June 23rd team. They have understood us with a strong sense of affiliation to the SP, with sincerity and tangible evidence, by accepting in some cases to be included although they were not winning, proving that they are here for what they say, for what they do every day, and not for anything else, as some other cases have unfortunately proven to be here for. I want to thank everyone who was not in the Parliamentary Group, who aspired to be there but were not there. I am sure that our national team of Revival now has new figures of different ages, with difference capacities, who will be part of this battle. There are many others in our forums who are still in our environment and were not included. I express my gratitude to them for everything they have done, and I am sure that their contribution will be there. We will bring forward the victory project”, Rama declared.

Malaj, not on the SP list

“I will run independently, to serve to the citizens”

“First of all, I want to thank the media for the support in my political career and all the voters who have voted the Socialist Party, especially those who have voted for me in these 16 years. This is not the end of my career. As an independent candidate, I will run without accepting any offer from any of the sides. This will be the end of the neodictators in Albania. I thank all the political representatives of Vlore who had given me maximal support. The decision to not get involved in any list was taken individually by Rama. I have no individual problem with him, but I am concerned for the fact that the Socialist Party is failing to defeat the government of Berisha, and is failing to give the country a better government. I have known that this would happen since the first moments that my battle to not change the Constitution in an arrogant and non transparent way would ruin the foundations of the rule of law. I have  known it when I asked the SP Parliament Group to not block the Parliament and to vote the three EU integration laws. But this is a small price that has to be paid by politicians who have no interests for government posts, but who have interests that his party would defeat the Sali Berisha, not copy his style”, Malaj declared.

Fatos Nano reacts for “Malaj”

The former SP leader and former Prime Minister of Albania, Fatos Nano, reacted on Facebook after the news for Malaj’s exclusion from the lists.

“This is a shame! You cannot replace the founders of this party such as Malaj, Brace and Islami with capitalists such as Koco Kokedhima, who will enter politics to protect his personal businesses. This is why Rama has been fought from Nano for such a long time”.

SMI submits list, Meta leads in Tiranë

SMI has submitted the list with the candidates that will run in the June 23rd elections.

Most of its figures will run in Tirana, such as: Ilir Meta, Klajda Gjosha, Luan Rama and Ylli Manjani.

The second most important district is that of Durres, where Lefter Koka leads with Edmond Panariti second.

Petrit Vasili, the former Health Minister, will lead the list of Fier and Vangjel Tavo will run in Gjirokaster with Reshat Zika. Nasip Naco will run in Berat.

The list in Shkoder will be led by Agron Cela and Nora Malaj. Apostol Goci and Qemal Elezi will lead in Kukes while Perparim Spahiu will lead in Diber.

Monika Kryemadhi, wife of the SMI leader, will lead the list for Lezhe, followed by Petrit Gjoni. The former Foreign Minister, Edmond Haxhinasto, will lead the list in Elbasan while the list of Korce will be led by Pirro Kapurani and Mimoza Gusho.

Dritan Prifti runs independently

A former SMI member and one of the closest persons to Meta, Prfiti has submitted the request to run independently in Fier.

His name was not accepted by the Socialist Party, as the former Minister of Energy hoped, recently found innocent over corruption charges.
