SP Municipality Councillors report illegal constructions

The Head of Municipal Unit 5, Jeta Seitaj, reports a construction near the Dinamo Stadium, while the Mayor of Municipal Unit 7, Erjon Koka, reports the construction of an object near the Partizani Club.

“There are many illegal constructions going on in Tirana, and the Municipality is not supporting us for blocking them”, Seitaj declared.

“These constructions usually take place during the electoral campaigns, but we this time they are continuing even now. And there is no structure of the Tirana Municipality to works in this direction”, Koka declared.

The Socialist councillors asked Mayor Basha to take in consideration these concerns, a phenomenon that was mentioned even by the meetings with the community in the entire territory of the Albanian capital, while the regulation entities have not gathered for giving the construction permits.

“This situation is completely out of control, and we consider it as an option that feeds corruption, which has taken dramatic proportions in the Tirana Municipality. If Basha has decentralized everything in Tirana, he has taken the capital city’s life in his hands only for thickening his pockets and those of the people that surround him, and continue each day to steal, as he did on May 8th”, declared Aldrin Dalipi, Chairman of the Socialist Councillors.

The illegal constructions started on the verge of the local elections. Afterwards, the Municipality undertook an operation to demolish or stop them, but this affected only some. The others are still under construction, according to the opposition.
