Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Socialist MP Taulant Balla presented the total revenues profited from
the Prime Minister’s children, Shkelzen and Argita Berisha, together
with Argita’s husband, Jamarber Malltezi.
“In total, the Prime Minister’s children have declared 134 million ALL (1.34 billion of Old Lek), 100 million ALL more than one year ago. I want to make clear that 100 million is only for one year. The total value is much bigger. On they same year when hundreds of thousands of Albanians saw a crisis and more are expected to join them, according to the World Bank. Poverty and crisis are problems of everyone today, but not of the family in power. The enrichment of the Berisha family in a time of crisis is an offence to all other families, and Sali Berisha must answer”, Balla declared.
Balla expressed the devotion of his party to continue the battle that aims to make transparency for Berisha’s assets, despite what Balla called direct threats.
“Berisha should give up from any threat to me and my family members. He will not shut me down with threats. If he has any arguments, I’m here to listen. I’m not impressed by threats. Berisha must explain the Albanians how his two children profited 100 million ALL in one year as teachers, when all Albanian teachers cannot meet ends. How can the Prime Minister’s son have 100.000 more EUR in his deposit than what he declared? How can a blurry real estate activity bring money for someone that just left school? How is it possible that all Albanians get poorer and the Prime Minister’s family gets richer”, Balla declared.
Balla concluded that the Prime Minister’s family is not in a crisis, and that the crisis is only for the Albanian families that cannot meet ends.
