One day after the opposition officially asked the Prosecution to be
active in preventing and punishing electoral law violators, the
Socialist Party filed the first reports at the Prosecution.
“This is about institutions such as kindergartens, middle schools and high schools. We have reported directors when their employees have been punished”, declared Bledar Cuci, vice secretary of the Socialist Party for the electoral matters.
There are two cases in this report filed at the prosecution, that of Mrs.Klarita Doku, 53-years-old, and Mrs.Diana Corraj, 58, with more than 30 years of work in the kindergarten at Municipal Unit 10. Both women were fired for not participating at the Democratic Party campaign.
The Socialist Party has presented facts that according to them were also transmitted on Top Channel’s program “Fiks Fare”, where Public Administration directors obliged public employees to participate in the Democratic Party meeting in Tirana.
These are only the first cases reported in the Prosecution. Dozens of others are being prepared by the Socialist Party legal experts, as lawyer Plarent Ndreca confirms for Top Channel.
“There are several people who have been under pressure and threatened for their jobs if they didn’t contribute in the interest of a political party”, Ndreca declared.
The group of legal experts that is preparing the reports has held a meeting with the Tirana Prosecutor, who they asked to appoint a Court Police officer that will register all these cases.
The electoral code, for the first time in these elections, foresees harsh measures for illegal methods, even to seven years to prison.
