Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Party was invited in the meeting of the European left
Parties, in Bucurest, where the SP will look for support for Albania’s
EU candidate status.
The Albanians Socialists were represented in this meeting by the Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Gramoz Ruci, and MP Taulant Balla, who keeps close relations with the European left parties. During his speech in Bucharest, Ruci presented the recent developments in Albania and the EU integration process, by expressing the commitment of the Socialist Party for fulfilling the candidate status criteria. Ruci asked the 184 left EMPs to support Albania’s EU integration.
“We exchanged some thoughts regarding the current situation in the country and we underlined that the SP will make everything possible for Albania to receive the EU candidate status that has been rejected for two consequent years”, Ruci declared.
According to the official announcement, the President of the Socialist and Democrat Group in the European Parliament, Hanes Svoboda, and the Deputy President, Libor Rucek, guaranteed the support of Albania saying that the EU will not be complete without Western Balkan and Albania.
During the Bucharest meeting, the SP delegation held met the Romanian Prime Minister, Victor Ponte.
