SP: Judiciary law package in September

This was the declaration of the Socialist MP, Ditmir Bushati, during a press statement in which he mentioned the real problematic faced in the integrating processes. Bushati reiterated the opposition’s readiness to contribute in achieving the EU candidate status by listing some suggestions.

“We want to hold discussions for the opposition’s suggestions about a judiciary reform and the immunity lifting within September, because we want to give to the Candidate status another chance this October, while Sali Berisha wants to play games with a referendum without adversaries. We want to make the Parliament acquainted with the government measure plan for the implementation of the electoral infrastructure, because we want to give another chance to the candidate status this October”, Bushati declared.

According to Bushati, who is at the same time Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Integration, the majority’s proposition for holding a referendum for the immunity is absurd, since the opposition has already declared that they are in favor of the immunity lifting.

“This referendum has no adversary because the Socialist Party has clearly declared that we are in favor of the immunity limitation, in favor of removing the impunity culture, in favor of dividing the state from the power. The constitutional amend draft for the immunity, which will be discussed in Parliament, is the one proposed by the Socialist Party in its core. Furthermore, whoever that knows the laws of this country and who feels responsible for the European fate of Albania, is very aware that there is no other chance to hold Berisha’s referendum before the date established by the EU for the candidate status”, Bushati declared.

Bushati declared that the SP has proved their political vision with action, and now it is up to Berisha to prove if he really wants the integration of this country, or if he sees the integration simply as a chance to attack the opposition.
