The Socialist Party presented its strategy for the development of the
Albanian sport, planned in the framework of the opposition’s program
“For an Albanian rebirth”.

The first speech was held by MP Fidel Ylli, a well known figure of the Albanian sport, who underlined the privatization of the football clubs.

“One point of our program will be the privatization of the sportive clubs. We will give to clubs a status that they don’t have. Clubs like Dinamo, Partizani and Studenti depend from the Ministry, while others from the Municipality. There is confusion here, because the President of the club is elected by the Municipality. Even the sportive terrains should be given to private operators, so that there might be chances for investments”, Ylli declared.

Other important points mentioned by the Socialist MP were investment in sportive infrastructure, which, according to him, so far has been left to the mercy of fate, and the increase of sport’s presence in education.

“Not only there are no new sportive terrains, but even the ones that were there have been destroyed, such as the Partizani Club, which has made history in Albania. We will stop the destruction made so far. The sportsmen want better conditions, gyms, etc, so that they can reach the European standards. We will also work for inserting more sportive activities in schools and kindergartens, and even universities”, Ylli declared.

Then he presented the investment projects in mountainous areas for the construction of ski trails, so that the Albanians do not travel to the neighboring countries and that the European tourists can be attracted to Albania.

Then, the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, emphasized the fact that the government has forgotten about the Albanian sport, from which can derive many talents.

Rama valued that the Albanian sport needs concrete investments, promising that this will be a priority of his future government.

Referring to the many Albanian sportsmen who have left Albania for other countries, the SP leader underlined that the real “traitors” are those who haven’t returned their eyes to sport, due to corruptive interests.
