SP: Crisis punishing poor class

The high debt level has placed Albania in an extreme situation where urgent interventions are needed; otherwise Albania risks falling into an unpredictable situation.

“It is scandalous that the government has predicted a utopian economic growth, with the only purpose to continue the dangerous game of deepening the debt. The logic of this approach is ‘doesn’t matter what happens after we go’. As Opposition, for our visionary approach, we must ring the alarm bells for the draft-law budget. Tomorrow will be too late, and the recovery cost would be unaffordable for a very long time”, Rama declared.

The Socialist leader declared that this crisis should not fall upon the common citizens, and for this reason, the project for removing VAT on some of the basic food and medicine, and also for reducing the energy price, is an inevitable obligation.

“We must insist for putting it in act as soon as possible, so that the voice of reason can be heard as much as possible, in order to create a budget that helps the Albanian common families”, Rama declared.

In the Parliament Group Meeting, the Socialists objected the government’s project for privatizing the four hydropower plants of Ulzen, Shkopet, Bistrice 1 and Bistrice 2.

“The national wealth is being treated as a personal belonging that can be sold for free, so that the government’s ‘royal court’ can keep standing on its feet, while the financial sources are draining out and are making the government collapse and take Albania with them”, Rama declared.

Rama also announced the Socialist’s stance for the candidacy decreed by the President for the New Supreme State Audit. According to Rama, Bujar Leskaj did not fulfill the criteria that this post requires, and that according to him, it is a partial political figure.
