The Socialists are preparing their most important political event, the
Congress of March 19th, for which they have spurred hot debates. Top
Channel has secured the six-point agenda of the SP:
1. Speech of SP leader, Edi Rama.
2. Report on progress of the new membership campaign, by Gramoz Ruci.
3. Report of Commission of Statutory Guarantees for activities between congresses.
4. Questions and discussions.
5. Changes in the SP statute.
6. Election for central leading SP institutions.
After the speech of leader Edi Rama, the most important discussion point will be the statutory amends, taken from the British labor party model.
These amends make Edi Rama’s leadership stronger, while is rival, Ben Blushi, demands elections for the leader.
In response, Rama will propose the Congress a referendum that will be opposed again by the rebel MP and his supporters, but the final decision is up to the Congress delegates.
This will be the moment when the SP will repeat the story of 2003, with Rama still being the protagonist, only that in that time he was against Fatos Nano, former SP leader.
While 13 years ago Rama had the support of Ben Blushi, today he is his first adversary. The discussions will be the only way for Blushi and his supporters to reiterate their opposition against Rama and propose the statutory amends.
