The ballot counting process in the Korce Municipality concluded in the early hours of this monday.

After counting more than 100 boxes, the Socialist Party candidate was found winner with a huge difference of votes.

His supporters started celebrating after the result was published.

Filo received 15953 votes, while his rival, Sotiraq Stratoberdha, received only 5283. This victory with more than 10.000 votes makes the Socialist candidate Mayor of this city.

The electoral process in Korce had a participation of 30%, and the Democratic Party candidate launched accusations, saying that votes were being bought.

The Socialist Party leader declared after victory that the projects of the Municipality will continue.

There was one problematic ballot box, and it will be counted by the Central Election Commission, but since the difference is huge, that ballot box will not make any difference.
