SP: Boycott, not long-termed

20/06/2011 15:15

Socialist Party MPs and members of the assembly will travel all over
Albania to discuss the next agenda of this political force.

The stance certainly depeneds on the result that the Central Election Commission will produce. However, SP seems to be offering a stronger line in their reaction for what the Socialist call “robbing Tirana’s mandate”.

The Socialist Party will continue to keep cold relations with the Albanian Parliament, but SP sources say that this doesn’t mean boycott, and their stance will not be the same as after Central Elections 2009, as a long term boycott.

The agenda was left to be decided in the next session, aAfter intensive discussions with the base of the Party, and also with supporters.

The demonstration will be part of the Socialist Party agenda, but not in the days to come.

According to the Socialists, the international support released through strong declarations and also through the statement that rules must not be changed in the middle of the game, give a strong responsibility to CEC and the government for changing the result of Tirana mayoral race. The Socialist Party says that this should be translated as the strongest signal that shows that the two-year battle based on radical stances, demonstrates, actions taken on the street and hunger strikes, boycott and road blockings has been a blind battle, but the main purpose of that clash was to guarantee the free vote.

The discussion with the base will be kept in this same line, since this base is divided between a newer stance and the further radicalization of the situation. As for the declaration of the Socialist leader for a further extension of the Party, inner sources say that this has to do with the fact for creating the conditions and for approaching more persons who feel that they can become active part of this political force. What remains certain is the fact that this invitation doesn’t involve any new “marriage” between the “just divorced” ones.
