SP: “Berisha copied our program”

The Albanian opposition declared that the draft brought for discussion
by the government for unifying the tax administration was in fact copied
by the SP Program “For a National Rebirth”.

“The Prime Minister had 7 years of time to unify the tax administration. They are doing it only after we read the program, saying that it will remove some of the corrupt tax collectors”, declared the Socialist MP, Arben Ahmetaj.

“It’s a good thing that he is copying, but we suggest him to copy the main part that is related with today’s economic crisis among the self-employed families and their business. Tax on small business should be removed immediately, because 166.000 Albanians are suffering from it. With this vital measure, they will return to these hard working people around 30 million USD. He must do it today, without losing anymore time, so that the failure chain will not take thousands of other small businesses and leave dozens of thousands of unemployed people. An incomplete copying of our program is not enough. If it will be in the chaotic model of Sali Berisha, it will cause more damages than benefits”, Ahmetaj declared.

MP Ahmetaj reiterated the strategy that the SP will follow for the tax system.

“The small business tax will be zero. We will concentrate this in a tax administration point. We will liberate small business from the numerous fines. We will make the businessmen the best example for a society that fights against unemployment. 2013 is the year of change, which will open way to economy”, Ahmetaj declared.
