SP: Basha to respond on wealth and passports

According to Braçe, Basha should respond not out of personal obligation, but because this obligation comes from the law. According to Braçe, the clarification given some days ago by the High Institute of Wealth Declaration and Control (HIWDC) is not serious and has mathematical errors.

“We consider as guilt the lacking of a legal action from HIWDC for Basha’s fake wealth declaration of: the sale of one of the many houses he owns, the much mentioned house in Netherlands, and the repay of a mortgage of 199,726 Euros with money that did not legally exist when the declaration was done. We are expecting the former Minsiter Basha to respond on this fraud, and we also expect HIWDC to take legal measures against this fake declaration”, Braçe declared.

One day ago, the High Inspectorate of Wealth Declaration and Control declared that there were no inconsistencies with Mr. Basha’s wealth declaration and the verifications done to the apartment purchase.

The opposition insists that the declaration is untrue and the HIWDC verification is only formal. According to the Socialist Deputy, Erjon Braçe, the former Minister should give explanations also for the second scandal, that of the passports, which have no connection with the declaration of his campaign spokesperson, who said that it was a typing error made by the notary. For Erjon Braçe, this was more than that.

“It is a fraud with official documents in order to profit wealth. We challenge Mr. Basha today to hand over the passport with the numbers 0160183! We are waiting. We ask minister Basha to hand over all other six passports that were used by him. Lying in the electoral campaign is easy for politicians like Basha, but getting involved in multiple frauds by abusing with the post of Interior Minister, is a law infringement and its punishment should come first for the citizens”, Braçe said.
