SP accuses ERE for energy

The opposition reports the Energy Regulation Entity for reducing the
energy price for KESH from 2.8 to 2.2 ALL per KWh, considering it a
measure taken against the citizens’ interest.
“This government keeps giving away the tax payers’ money for the close interests of their clients, the consumer and the state budget”, declared the Socialist MP. Arben Ahmetaj.
Ahmetaj suspects that the decision is consequence of a hidden agreement that steals millions of dollars from the tax payers’ money.
“The Energy Corporation of Albania (KESH) reduced the electricity price for CEZ to 2.2 ALL, from 2.8 that it was before, and this causes an annual damage of 33 million USD. Why is this money being given away to CEZ, since they profit 100 million USD in three years and never reduce the final price for the Albanian consumers? It means that there is a hidden agreement in damage of the Albanian public”, Ahmetaj declared.
ERE intervened three days ago by reducing the price with which KESH, a public owned company, sells the energy to CEZ, the private company that owns the distribution monopoly.
The Socialists say that this is a decision that transfers 33 million USD of annual revenues from the KESH budget to the CEZ Company, and proves what the opposition has been reporting for a long time: governing the country not for the citizens’ interests, but for the clients of the government workers.
