One year after the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Tirana marched in solidarity for the right of every citizen to be free.
In addition to dozens of Albanian citizens, Ukrainians who have taken refuge in our country also took part. Although they are now far from the war, the uncertainty about the lives of their family members who are still in Ukraine accompanies them all the time.
“I have family in Ukraine, my parents are there. It is terrible what is happening, we are safe now but our heart is in Ukraine. Ukraine must win because it is about our freedom and future” – said Ukrainian citizen Dasha Titomir.
With joined hands and with Ukrainian flags, the march continued on the main boulevard to Tirana’s town hall, where ambassadors and politicians joined.
The ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shkurov, expressed his gratitude to our country and asked for a minute of silence for the victims of the war. “Ukraine is covered in blood and continues to fight.
I thank the Albanian people for the powerful humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people” – said Shkurov among other things.
