The Socialists in the parliamentary inquiry commission said today that they have not found enough facts and evidence to propose to the parliament the dismissal of President Ilir Meta.
Unable to remove the president, the Socialists will instead propose some legal changes to the assembly.
Opposition members left the commission of inquiry, disagreeing with the Socialists’ stance on the president.
Democratic member Alban Zeneli said the commission did not make sense from the beginning.
“What is the reason you set up this commission, this is nonsense. We have shown from the beginning that we support the institutions, which is the reason why we came to this commission. Nevertheless his does not mean that we are part of your games with Ilir Meta. Therefore, we have decided to abandon this Commission so you can continue with your bargains “, said Zeneli.
Socialist Bashkim Fino also opposed the proposal of the Socialist head Ulsi Manja for drafting of a resolution that would advise the President on how to proceed.
