The Albanians of Presheva Valley, Southern Serbia, welcomed in the center of the town the Albanian Socialist leader, Edi Rama.

Rama was received with music, flowers and photographs, and was accompanied to the Presheva Communal Council. The room was too small for the people who were interested for promoting his book, “Kurban”. Rama said that politics sometimes affects the artists, and it is difficult to stay aside. He also spoke for the absence of the elite, after the changes in the democratic system, without mentioning also his relation with Berisha.

“As President, Berisha opened the gates to the smuggling of oil with Belgrade, when Serbia and Belgrade were under embargo, as an unaccetable regime, due to their behavior with the former Yugoslav countries, especially with Bosnia and Kosovo”, Rama declared.

Rama underlined that for the valley is needed a new policy that is in full accordance with the European standards for minorities.

“I think that through Serbia and Albania, the problem to be treated in the aspects that the European Parliament suggests, is the Presheva Valley. This is my convinction and on this we have a series of ideas”, the SP leader declared.

Now that Kosovo is an independent republic and sovereign state; now that the Kosovo isue is resolved, Albania’s commitment in the relations with the Serbian state should be concentrated on the Presheva Valley problems.

The Albanians have asked him how they could get help. Rama spoke about books, schools that could be built and a new maternity, a Balkan initiative for the minorities and a University in Presheva.

On Twitter Rama wrote that he will ask the Albanian Parliament to pass a fund for building a maternity in Presheva and at least two schools.

Rama did not forget what unifies the Albanians outside.

“We are witnesses of a social change, and the strength that the Valley has given by the Albanian television, through Digitalb. I am not promoting Digitalb, but I want to honor here the memory of a friend of mine, who isn’t among us anymore. A genius, a ptriot. When he first talked me about Digitalb, he said that it will be teaching Albanian to the families that do not live in Albania any longer”, Rama declared.

Rama answered to many questions of the citizens. The queue was long for the books with his signature. Then he attended a business lunch with the Albanian leaders, were he asked unity for major matters.
