Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Leader held a speech in front of his Parliament Group,
which he supported on five main points regarding the objectives of this
political force in the Albanian Parliament.
The initiative for turning the Parliamentary relations to normalization through the indispensable Regulation amends, according to the Socialist Rama, must be followed by a second step for a deep institutional reform of this mini-institution, on behalf of the diagnosis of the progress report.
The opposition leader declared that the third legal initiative will be handed over within this week, and it has to do with the removal of the VAT tax for basic food products.
“This week we will hand over the initiative for removing the VAT tax on basic food products, such as bread, eggs, milk and medicines. This initiative has found interest among the Albanian families”, Rama declared.
The Socialist leader emphasized another point that regards a government project for recycling waste materials in our country, even radioactive ones.
“The state of the Albanian environment is catastrophic. This government initiative must be strongly opposed and must be stopped with any means”, Rama declared.
The last, but not the least important point, regards the clear positioning of the Socialist Party for the laws that require a qualifying majority with 35 of the Parliament’s votes. Mr. Rama reiterated that the Socialist Group will not vote laws that have been added to the schedule as ordinary annexes.
Referring to the latest developments in Bulqize, the Socialist leader appealed the General Prosecution to investigate the former Minister of Economy, Genc Ruli, for amending the agreement with the ACR Company, which can be made only by the Parliament.
In the previous meeting of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Rama underlined that the draft for the amends will turn the Parliamentary life to normality. According to him, the amends will not affect only the Parliamentary Regulation, but also the necessity of an institutional reform of the working procedure in this institution. “We will not vote non harmonized drafts without a solid vision for constructing and making the Albanian state work, and we will not raise the green card only for the eyes of Brussels, with law patches and call them integration reforms. We will vote project that require qualified majority only for clear, national and transparent platforms for the indispensable reformation of our justice system, security etc., all of them focused on the EU integration standards”, Rama declared.
