The situation has been aggravated by the intense snowfall in Bulqiza and Mat.

The heavy snowfall combined with the low temperatures, has blocked the rural roads of the Bulqiza, Mat and Klos municipality units in the northeast of Albania, leaving many villages isolated and interrupting the electricity supply.

The precipitation and frost on the road has contiued on the national road links, as well as on the urban roads within Bulqiza.

In some villages of Bulqiza administrative units, electricity is lacking due to damage to high and low voltage lines.

The county of Korça in the southeast is also affected by snowfall.

The average thickness goes to 5-6 cm which has created difficulties in vehicle circulation.

Officials say 20 snowplows are on the ground to clear the roads, while they appeal to drivers for added caution.

Of the most problematic road axes, the officials mention Qafë Thana, Qafë Plloça and Qafë e Qarri, while the others present a slightly lower risk. The contracting firms are all at work, the vehicles are mainlycirculating and there have been no blockages on any road axis in the Korca district.

In the nearby tourist spots of Dardha and Voskopoja, there are still vacationers as vehicles move with snowchains or winter tires.
