Snow blocks 38 communes

The snow falls have continued even last night in all mountainous areas
of Albania. The Civil Emergencies report of at least 38 blocked
communes, mainly in Shkoder, Kukes, Deiber, Korce and Gjirokaster.

The rainfalls have melted snow in some areas and many national roads have been freed, however, drivers should use tire chains in most of them, especially in Puka, Kukes, Peshkopia, Bulqize and Burrel, Permet, Kolonje and Korce.

The weather forecast warns for other snowfalls in north and northeast Albania, while lessons have been interrupted in many schools where transport has been paralyzed and the bad classroom conditions make it impossible to continue the activity.

State Police notifies this situation for this Monday:

Kukes, Morine-Kalimash, only with tire chains
Kukes-Krume, B.Curri-Qafe Morine, only with tire chains
B.Curri-Fierze, only with tire chains
B.Curri-Valbone, Krume-B.Curri are blocked
Krume-Qafe Prush dhe Kukes-Topojan only with tire chains
Topojan-Shishtavec is blocked
Ne Diber, Peshkopi-Bulqize-Klos only with tire chains
Bulqize-Shupenze-Ostren only with tire chains
Peshkopi-Sllove-Kala e Dodes to Kukes only with tire chains
Peshkopi-Muhurr-Arras only with tire chains
Stebleve-Librazhd and Arras-Lure blocked
Shkoder-Mabe free, but with random ice
Shkoder-Koman i kalueshem, por ka ngrica
Qafe Cele-Puke-Fushe Arres and Fushe Arres-Gjegjan-Shpal only with tire chains
Fushe Arres-Qafe Mali-Qafe Shllak is blocked
Boge-Theth dhe Selce-Vermosh are blocked, expected to be freed soon
Dukagjin and Fushe Arrres-Iballe are blocked
Korçe-Erseke-Leskovik only with tire chains
Ne qarkun Gjirokaster, Permet-Carshove only with tire chains
