SMI: SP to vote laws in Parliament

The Socialist Movement for integration seems to have rejected the 10
propositions of the opposition for cooperating with the country’s EU
integration.

According to the Socialist Party Movement vice leader, the pact for the integration should not be used for personal policies. Vasili declared that the pact offered by the SMI some time ago remains an all inclusive solution based on principles.

“The national pact for integration can never be an opportunity for realizing party’s interests by imposing unilateral conditions. This cannot be used for realizing the close interests of some individuals, or for unilateral political control of the institutions. It cannot be used for replacing a constitutional activity with political agreements that go above them and aim to realize a state party instead of the rule of law that is just and equal for all citizens, regardless their political preferences or ideologies. Therefore, SMI repeats once again that there is no time to lose for realizing the national pact for integration. We appeal the opposition to support this pact completely, directly and with principles”, declared the vice leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Petrit Vasili.

Only two days ago, the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, announced an offer for the majority, which he considered as a last minute chance for taking the EU candidate status, naming it The National Pact for “Albania like all Europe”, the famous slogan used by the Albanians that overthrew the communist regime.

The pact has 10 demands that start with the necessity, according to the opposition, for approving through consensus the changes deposited by them at the Parliament Regulation and for approving within December the Parliamentary Institutional Reform, based on the defects noted by last years’ progress report.

The other points are about the electoral reform, the way some constitutional institution leaders are selected and the investigations of the January 21st events by the General Prosecution, which would prevent politics from attacking this institution.
