SMI: Podesta, intentional manipulation

Ralf Gjoni,
Secretary for the Foreign Relations at the Socialist Movement for
Integration, expressed the concern of his party regarding the
manipulative role  that the Podesta lobbying company, which is paid by the citizens’ money, has with the international media.

As Top Channel published this Thursday, Podesta has censored the critics made to the Albanian government by the Director for Southern and Central Europe at the US State Department, Jonathan Moore.

“Although Podesta corrected the mistake after the concerns raised in Tirana, we have strong reasons to believe that this was an intentional manipulation by the lobbying company, with the only goal to misinform the international public opinion”, Gjoni declared.

Gjoni says that several articles of the Code of Ethics have been violated, and new concerns are raised regarding the legitimacy of Podesta‘s activity regarding their contractual obligations with the Albanian government.

“The lobbying company is paid by the Albanian taxpayers. They have intentionally interfered with internal issues of the Albanian democracy, in order to represent the interests of the democratic party, by interfering with technical and legal issues of the Albanian institutions, and by openly lobbying against the independence, integrity and legitimacy of the Albanian Constitutional institutions”, Gjoni declared.

The SMI representative reiterated that this party will take all political and legal steps to communicate with the respective authorities in the USA, the US State Department and the US Justice Department to note this bad representation of Albania’s interest, and the abuse made with the money of the Albanian citizens.

“This is an intolerable scandal and an open conflict of interest with the agreement that Podesta has with the Albanian government. We remind Mr. Berisha that while he thinks to use suspicious instruments to misinform the Albanian public, we have a stronger long-term agreement with the Albanian citizens for returning the legitimacy to all Albanian institutions, and for making Albania advance towards international standards, and to make Albania an EU member”, Gjoni declared.
