SMI: Let’s remove immunities

The Socialist Movement for Integration Secretary of Legal Matters, Ylli
Manjani, appealed the Albanian political class to cooperate for removing
the immunity of high rank politicians.
When it seemed that the entire Parliament would go on vacation, Manjani announced that the SMI group will undertake a legal initiative for removing the immunity in Parliament.
“The Socialist Movement for Integration, through its Parliamentary Group, will join the public invitation for including into the working schedule of this Parliamentary session the discussion and final solution of the immunity matter. We support zero immunity for every public representative. The judges must enjoy immunity, but limited”, Manjani declared.
The propositions of the SMI are for the abrogation of article 73 and 103.3, which completely removes the immunity of MPs and government members. They also suggest the amending of article 137.1 and 137.3 of the Constitution, which would allow the judges to be investigated according to the laws.
