“Skampa” theater to be reconstructed for 8 weeks

Right after the flames were put out, specialists rushed to analyze the materials and determine a preliminary cost of the repair works. The Mayor of Elbasan, Qazim Sejdini, declared that the “Skampa” theater will turn in origin after eight weeks, with the same structure it had before, but with a new technique.

The fire that erupted in a nearby building completely burned the theater that had been praised for many years for its excellent acoustics.

The Skampa theater had been ensured by an insurance company, and the director of this agency declared that they will establish a working team for calculating the damages and making the theater to return to its previous state.

The flames destroyed everything in the “Skampa Theater”.

The most affected are the artists, who commented the situation with almost ready to burst to tears. Demir Hyskja, “Honored Artist”, declared that he had no words to describe the pain he was feeling for this catastrophe that had caused moral damages more than material ones. He added that the artists have invested with all their life in that theater, and there is no compensation for that.

The actor Anastas Xhuvani declared that this is a great loss that burned their memories, efforts, hard work and dreams. He had played for the entire life on that scene, which is the best in Albania for the acoustics level, a copy of “La Scala” in Italy and that now had been destroyed.
