Shkumbin and Devoll, polluted

The Shkumbin and Devoll rivers in the Elbasan District have a high
bacterial pollution. The cause to this is the pouring of sewage waters
from the municipalities and communes of this district.
Another factor that has affected the degradation of these water basins are the urban waste collection points, which are situated near the rivers.
The head of the Public Health, Bujar Kllogjeri, appealed the citizens to not bathe in these rivers, since there is a high risk of infections.
Shkumbin is among the most beautiful rivers in Albania, but the bad management has made the visitors change destination.
