The demolition of some buildings for making way to the Shkoder Outer
Ring Road, in the eastern part of the city, has brought to surface the
foundations of the Kercile Bridge, which is a cultural heritage due to
the way it was built.
Built around 200 years before, this bridge had been covered in the last 20 years by illegal constructions, but what catches the attention is the fact that the Ministry of Culture has not included it in the list of Culture Monuments.
The Shkoder Municipality is trying to build the city Ring Road without touching the century old bridge.
The Kercile Bridge, constructed with stones and arches that are similar to those used for the Rozafa Castle, is considered an art work.
