Destruction, agricultural lands and national roads under water: this is
the view near Shkoder, a few days after the Vau i Dejes HPP gates were
open.
The situation is still problematic, although the water has been withdrawing. The water has left behind an alarming pollution. The Ana e Malit and Bushat communes are still under water, while the national road that connects Velipoja with the rest of the country is dangerous.
The white sidelines are replaced with ropes, so that vehicles don’t fall off. Police doesn’t allow low vehicles to pass.
According to the Shkoder prefecture, although the water level is lower, there are 4300 ha of land under water, 310 isolated houses who have evacuated the Shirgj village of Dajc commune. The waters of Buna are also putting the Shkoder suburbs in danger.
