The Shkoder Police has taken under custody seven people accused of vote purchase.
They had been informed that a 48-year-old and four other persons were distributing money with the vehicle of the Energy Corporation.
During a control in the vehicle, police found compensation bank checks, which, according to the suspects, were being given to flooded families based on an order of the Prime Minister’s Office.
In another case Police arrested a Vermosh Customs employee, who was caught with a list of voter and a considerable amount of money.
The Shkoder Police said they are looking for possible vote purchase cases, and about to arrest those responsible.
The Chief of Police, Haki Cako, declared that they have established a task force for coordinating the actions of the police, in presence of representatives of international missions who assist our country.
Prosecutor General Aderiatik Llalla has also asked his staff to engage maximally and cooperate with the law enforcing institutions.
The task force of the Council of Ministers, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ledina Mandia, has offered a phone number that parties may call to report irregularities. There is also an electronic portal on the Prime Minister’s website.
