13 years after the proclamation as a National Park, Shebenik has celebrated today the anniversary of becoming of the largest natural park in Albania, with its mountain peaks and high altitude lakes.
In addition to the wild scenery, the natural food products of the area are more and more preferred by the visitors. But while the park will be easily accessible to all, a challenge remains its preservation.
Shebenik is a large mountain located in the Shebenik-Jabllanice National Park in eastern Albania. It has many peaks over 2,000 m. The highest is Maja e Shebenikut at 2,253 m above sea level, in the north-east of Shebenik. Around this peak are a number of small and large mountain lakes.
