The Prime Minister of Serbia, Alexandar Vucic, is expected to request EU
funding for the construction of the Belgrade-Merdara highway, which
will then continue towards Albania, part of the Nation’s Road.
Serbian media say Vucic will meet with the Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn; the High Representative of the EU, Federica Mogherini, and also the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and other government leaders from the region.
Vucic said for Serbian media that investments at the Nis-Pristina highway are the best variant to have a quicker connection with Albania. He said that this is a very important project for several areas of Serbia.
