The Nation’s Road may become part of a bigger highway with another name if the Durres-Prishtina-Nish corridor is realized.
The Serbian Minister of Economy, Goran Knezevic, called this corridor “‘the highway of peace’, which will increase cooperation and create more possibilities of economic exchange between countries”.
The Minister of State for Enterprising, Sonila Qato, said that the trust between parties has increased, but there are also other ways to explore for increasing cooperation.
The EU aims to increase cooperation between the countries of the region and encourage political dialogue. These funds are given for joint projects.
The Durres-Nish Corridor is almost complete on the Albanian side, with the Nation’s Road. In Kosovo it is still partially. In Serbia, EU has given the funds.
Connecting Durres with the industrial area of Nish in Serbia would increase the trade exchanges in the entire region.
