
Every agreement reached in Brussels, Serbia and Kosovo seem to transform
into troubles at home. Serbia seems far from accepting the Kosovo
stamps in northern checkpoints, since they do not accept Kosovo Customs’
agents in these checkpoints.
While the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic and leader of the Socialist Party declared that Serbia is building an action plan for establishing the borders on September 16th. The President Boris Tadic declared that this will never be accepted.
Based on these declarations, Belgrade seems to support the Serbian protests, but in a peaceful way. The situation seems of having deteriorated, at least as the Serbian media report, giving less hopes for the trade agreement and that of free movement.
Dacic declared that the problem is not with the persons who will be placed in borders, but the symbolism that Thaci wants to declare victory.
President Boris Tadic declared that the Customs and Police agents should stay outside the red lines and that they will urgently ask the international community to stop the violence in north and the unilateral attempts for bringing law and order.
