Sequi: No division language among officials

“We expect positive reactions from the politics until December, a period when the EU will talk with Albania”, the ambassador declared.

The EU Ambassador, Ettore Sequi, declared that the political stalemate has left the Albanians without the EU candidate status, while Albania must pay attention to the 12 key priorities recommended by the EU, which mainly call for political dialogue and electoral reforms.

The EU Ambassador declared that any positive step that might be taken by the Albanian politics will be seen as a positive signal by the EU in the months to come.

The President-Parliament Speaker clash

The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, thinks that the opposition’s blocking stance is the main reason why Albania is having its EU integration delayed.

Topalli declared that the President is not only responsible for the corruption in the judicial system, but also for refusing to give his accountability and for collaborating with the opposition for the blocking activities.

“I read the report and especially the part about the judicial system and the corruption in there. As regards the reason why the candidate status was not granted, the boycott and the blocking, I have always seen President Topi and opposition’s leader Rama as the joint responsible in the last years”, Topalli declared.

The President then answered to the accusations made against him by the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who made him one of the responsible people that made Albania fail with the candidate status.

“These ladies and gentlemen should learn how to communicate. They must know how to communicate in an ethical way, because they are communicating with the institution of the Precedence. If the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament takes her speeches by others, the matter here is how well she reads that speech. I invite them to be citizens and speak the Albanian language correctly”, Topi declared.

The press office of the Albanian Parliament reacted after the declaration of the Albanian President, Bamir Topi, against the Speaker Jozefina Topalli, releasing a declaration which read:

“Topalli speaks with pride and self consciousness the beautiful Albanian dialect of Fishta. Topalli speaks the dialect of Kol Idromeno, Migjeni and Gurakuqi. ‘Haxhi Qamili’ cannot understand Topalli’s language”.
