The EU ambassador to Tirana, Ettore Sequi, declared on the behalf of the
EU that the January 21st trial decision was appealable and that any
polarization of this case should be avoided.
Sequi mentioned the comment of Stefan Fule on Twitter, saying that the Tirana Court decision is not in a final stage and that the procedure should be concluded with a credible and impartial trial.
The European Council didn’t welcome the Tirana Court decision about the January 21st events. The EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule, reminded the progress report in which they appealed for an impartial and credible trial about the January 21st events”.
After advising to avoid all polarizations on this case, the Commission repeated the requests of the Albanian justice system.
“The Commission repeats that an independent, impartial and accountable judicial system, able to guarantee righteous verdicts, is the legal desire of the Albanian people and an essential element of the rule of law, a precondition in the EU integration path”, the Communication declared.
