The supporters of the Self-Determination Movement traveled from Tirana
to support their action at the Kosovo-Serbian border checkpoints, but
not without problems.

The buses were stopped at the Kosovo-Albania border checkpoint for 30 minutes. The journalists that followed the buses were sent away through force by the Albanian Police that has carefully inspected both buses.

When entering the Kosovo side of the border, the Kosovo Police delayed their procedure with the excuse that there was a defect with the Customs computer system.

After the detailed controls, all Self-Determination Movement supporters were held in the customs for three hours.

This has caused the young supporters to start chanting their slogans, with the flags in their hands. The Kosovo Police used sprays to calm down the revolted crowd.

The Kosovo Police blocked the road as soon as the Self-Determination Movement supporters crossed the border.

“We finished with the Albanian side of the border for five minutes. At the Kosovo side, they told us that they had problems with the computer system, an excuse that we Albanians know pretty well from the Greek Custom. Then they asked a series of documents and wanted us to fill a request. We filled the request but when we were at the border checkpoint, they told us to return, because the vehicle was lacking of one of the documents. We continued on foot and the Police used spray against us”, declared Gential Sala, supporter of the Self-Determination Movement.

The Self-Determination Movement supporters stayed for several hours at the border checkpoint in Vermice.
