The Self-Determination Movement decided to protest on January 26th in
Prishtina for the rights of the Presheva Valley Albanians. They invite
the Albanian citizens to join the protest.

They will demand for the rights of Albanians to be protected, and for the UCPMB monument to return at its place, and for the Kosovo government to interrupt the dialogue with Serbia.

They will also demand the return of the Kosovo Parliament resolution that bans Serbian goods from Kosovo, and the expansion of Kosovo’s sovereignty in the north.

“The success of this protest will give a powerful voice to the government of Kosovo about the steps that should be taken with the international community and Serbia. It will show that the Albanians are one and they are not alone in any territory, but united”, declared Shpend Ahmeti, vice leader of the Self-Determination Movement.

The SD leaders accused the government of Kosovo of abandoning the Presheva Albanians’ rights, adding that continuing to dialogue in these conditions would be irrational.

The Self Determination Movement appealed the governments of Prishtina and Tirana to protect the rights of ethnic Albanians in this area.

The protest will be held without taking permission from the Kosovo Police, saying that it is a citizens’ right to protest.
