Scientific research is one of the most important parts of the Higher
Education Law, but also one of the points in which Albania will be
valued as an EU candidate.

Scientific reform during this year takes only 0.4% of the GDP, from 1% to 2% that is the EU recommendation.

“By opening the negotiations, as you know, the agency I represent and the Ministry of Education report for Chapter 25 in a special way. This Chapter  is directly related to innovation and scientific research policies. But one of the basic elements that measure Albania’s progress ni this chapter is the among of scientific research, which in optimal levels should be 1 to 2% of the GDP”, declared Geron Kamberi, Director of the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation.

For some weeks, the Agency led by Geron Kamberi was closed by order of the Council of Ministers. Kamberi explains that this structure will be reformed and will be an integral part of the Scientific Research Agency.
