On the second day of her official visit in Hungary, the Albanian
Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, received the news that Budapest
will have a statue of Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu.
The news was given to Mrs. Topalli by her Hungarian homologue, Lazlo Kover, with whom the Albanian Speaker discussed about the joint activities that both countries will organize next year for the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Albania and Hungaria, which coincided with the 100th independence anniversary of Albania.
The Hungarian Parliament Speaker declared that the statue of the Albanian national hero will be placed in one of the main squares of Budapest.
Skenderbeg, together with Janush Huniad, the Hungarian hero, are known in the medieval history as the leaders that fought against the Ottoman Empire in defense of their countries and Europe.
