Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The students in Kosovo and Albania will have a similar ABC-book next year.
This might be formalized very soon between the two Education Ministries, that of Kosovo and Albania. This was announced after a meeting of the Kosovo Education Minister, Rame Buja, with his Albanian homologue, Myqerem Tafaj, in a joint conference in Prishtina, where they announced some of the details.
“This project doesn’t damage any tradition, culture or ethnicity. It helps everyone that is included by the Albanian geography, wherever they might be, for having a common learning. I am convinced that the next September will find our students with the new ABC-book”, Buja declared.
His Albanian homologue declared that we have 3 types of ABC books in our schools in Albania, and they agreed to open a competition for the new book that will have authors from Kosovo and Albania, and that will be valued by a joint commission. This doesn’t mean that the other books will be excluded from the market.
Part of the common commissions that have been established by the ministries can become the Albanians who live outside Kosovo and Albania. But if the Albanians of the Presheva Valley, Montenegro and Macedonia will have the possibility to learn by such books, it depends from the country where they live.
On the other hand, during his stay in Kosovo, Minister Tafaj met other leaders of Kosovo Institutions with whom he discussed about the cooperation between the two states.
